Look how cute these stockings are! One of Linderella’s teachers and good friend, Sandy made these for the shop from the book “Jump Start Your Quilting” – this was the same book that the cat Halloween table runner came from!    These will eventually be donated to Pinehurst’s annual charity event “Festival of the Trees” (Nov 8-13 at the Carolina Hotel) where they will be auctioned off to raise money for the Sandhills Children’s Center.   Some of our other teachers are also working on  items to be donated like tree skirts  & small quilts!  Too cute and thank you, thank you Sandy!

Now that the kids are back in school, it might be just the time to start thinking about Fall & Christmas projects….Look at this cutie…it’s called the “Sassy Little Apron” by Cabbage Patch Designs….Just 2 fabrics and lots of fun! I’m always looking for new ideas….I’ve already run through the usual stuff like pillowcases, totebags, table runners…..What are you guys planning to make for Fall or Christmas holiday gift giving this year?  Email me with your ideas!

Not ready to start a Fall or Christmas gift yet, well how about pajama pants?  Laura recently finished this pair for Linderella’s and will also be teaching classes (the next class with openings will be Friday, Sep 9th at 2pm – you can sign up online at our website)….This is the capri version (so cute!) and she added jumbo rick rack no less…..These are perfect projects for beginners and novices alike!

Even though it is sooooooooooooooooo hot outside, it’s feeling more like Fall at Linderella’s.  Elaine just finished this super cute Fall table runner from the book “Jump Start Your Quilting” (available at Linderella’s of course).    She used the new Grand Finale charm pack, black Grunge material for the cats, and olive rick rack.    Look closely and you’ll see the spider made from a glossy black button with a web she hand embroidered with black metallic thread!  Love, love love it!   Thank you Elaine!

Finally complete and ready to be sent to the long-armer for quilting!  Here is my finished Grinch quilt! I think it came out very cute! I hope you all like it…We’ll be offering a fabric kit for this quilt very soon in the shop and online so stay tuned! Let me know if you guys like it!

Thought I would share the “Cover Up” Sewing Machine Cover I just finished as a sample for the Linderella shop….it is so cute and sooooooooooo easy to make (took me approx. 2 hours from start to finish). Better than that, it is totally customizable for your sewing machine…It’s a new pattern by Shea Henderson at Empty Bobbin Sewing Studio that we just got in the shop and we will also be teaching a class on this project on Sat., August 20th at 10:30a…..love, love, love it!

We’ve got some great selections for you to choose from….Quilting 101 returns with class sessions starting in July and again in August….along with a beautiful new batik quilt called “Lucky Stars”…..July starts off with a brand new class “Fun with Free Motion Quilting” a great way to start quilting your own projects. August see’s the return of “Take 4 Placemats” and a new class “Double Irish Chain” along with other fun and happy projects like Starburst Fall Table Topper and Glorious Fall wallhanging. Also look for other unique creative sewing projects  in the“Sew Easy” Series – “Reversible Bucket Hat” and the “Cover Up!” sewing machine cover.   Also back in August by popular demand, the “Beautiful Bindings Workshop” and in September a new needle turn applique class “Blossom Pumpkin Wallhanging”….

Happy Easter you all! Our customers are some of the most creative people I know and here’s a great example! Cindy made the Fat Quarter Frog pattern that we all know and love, and added rabbit ears!!  Too cute! And to top it all off…Minkee (that soft and furry fabric) was used for the bottom and the the underside of the ears….Love, love, love it!  Thank you Cindy for sharing this with us!

Just wanted to share with you guys….Linderella’s  recently hosted a class on Beaded Fabric Necklaces and the response was overwhelming!  Under teacher Elaine’s guidance (our Tea Cozy lady), our nine students had so much fun wrapping small squares around wooden beads and then stringing them together with a beautiful ribbon….However what looks easy is not!  It does take some patience to gently massage the fabric around the wooden bead and into the holes all the while keeping in mind that time is of the essence before the glue dries out and more will need to be applied.  But everyone did very well and finished their necklaces in class to wear home!

Here’s the link to what Moda calls the Neptune Necklace so you can try it at home if you’d like….However, now famed fashion designer, Louis Vuitton,  is selling his beaded fabric necklaces for a cool $850.00…Wow!  And many have also appeared on Etsy for sale as well….Something to think about, eh?

So give it a try at home….it’s a great little project to use scraps on and also to make a few as holiday gifts!
